Hair Loss

Hair loss or baldness is a condition wherein there is an absence of hair growth from where it is typically develops, especially on the head. It can be either temporary or permanent. There are several types of hair loss incidence, from the male progressive thinning pattern to the male and female pattern alopecia.
The average hair growth rate is about 1.2 cm per month. While females between 15-30 years of age experiences faster hair growth.
Symptoms
Hair fall, gradual appearance of bald patches and receding hairline are the most apparent symptom of hair loss.
Causes
Primary factor for hair loss is malnutrition. Vitamin B6 and folic acid deficiency often leads to total hair loss. It is better to take vitamin supplements to counteract this condition.
Other causes to take note of are anxiousness, heredity and sudden distress; prolonged exposure to illnesses such as anemia, common cold, influenza, syphilis and typhoid; and damaged hair roots due to accumulation of dirt on the hair pores.
Home Remedies
Scalp care: Wash hair with cold water then rub your scalp vigorously until it becomes warm. It activates the sebaceous glands and promotes blood circulation in the affected area.
Amla oil:
Boil dry pieces of amla in coconut oil and apply on the hair to promote hair growth. You can also mix equal parts of fresh amla and lime juice for shampoo substitute. It will prevent hair loss and stimulate hair growth.
Lettuce:
Mix lettuce and spinach juice. Take at least ½ liter a day to promote hair growth.
Amaranth:
Make a juice extract out of amaranth leaves. Apply on the hair and scalp to make it smooth and stimulate hair growth.
Alfalfa:
Mix equal parts of alfalfa, carrot, and lettuce juice. Take it daily to promote hair grown. Use fresh alfalfa leaves when preparing the juice.
Margosa:
Wash hair using a decoction out of margosa (neem) leaves to treat hair fall and hair loss. It will get rid of parasitical infestation, enhance hair color while promoting hair growth.
Diets
Healthy hair primarily depends on the body nutrients.
